Jalopy’s Organic Rice, Lentils, and Split Pea Dinner

Taste is everything and finding a recipe that is not going to add those extra pounds can be tenanting. Yet finding a recipe that is quick, easy, and healthy to boot can be even more difficult. As a woman, I know personally how challenging it can be to keep those extra pounds off. With this recipe, your nutrition does not have to suffer in order to help get off those extra pounds.

This easy, stress-free recipe is full of nutritional qualities your body will thank you for; such as while this recipe does contain some fat, the fats in it are all the good fats. It also contains high amounts of proteins combined with vitamins, minerals, and Omega’s. In addition, this recipe also contains high levels of fiber, which are essential in digestion.

Many of these ingredients are used regularly in third world countries because of both their high nutritional content and ease on the human digestive system. These ingredients are inexpensive and most of them will last a long while.

Besides this healthy recipe being so easy to make, it also has many great benefits. This easy dinner recipe is excellent for almost all specialty diets such as reflex. This low calorie food is packed with flavor and will fill everyone’s tummy full of happiness.

You will need the following items for this recipe:

Ingredients

1-cup Papa’s White Organic Jasmine Rice

½-cup Organic Red Lentils

½-cup Organic Green Split Peas

3-tablespoons Flax USA’s Organic Cold Milled Golden Flax Seed

1/3 Large Local Organic Yellow Onions (chopped)

2-Cloves Local Organic Garlic (chopped)

¼-teaspoon Palm Island’s White Silver Sea Salt (use to taste)

¼-teaspoon Organic Black Pepper (use to taste)

1/8-teaspoon Organic Dill Weed

2-pinches Organic Rosemary (crash when adding)

2-tablespoon Organic Valley’s Cultured Unsalted Butter

1-tablespoon Tropical Traditions Gold Label Certified Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

2-cups Nature's Promise Organic Chicken Broth

2-cups Filtered Tap Water

Supplies

Stove

Medium-Large Pot with Top

Wooden Spoon

Begin with cutting both the Onion and Garlic then add Coconut Oil and Butter into a medium-large pot. Place stovetop onto medium heat. Add Rice, Lentils, and Split Peas; stir frequently and add in the rest of the ingredients. Toast contents until Rice and Onions begin to brown; then add Chicken Broth and Water. Bring liquid to a rapid boil and stir occasionally to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot. Let contents boil for approximately 5-minutes. Next, turn down the heat to low and allow contents to cool down before placing top onto pot. Continue to stir occasionally while allowing contents to cook until all the liquid has soaked into contents. Serve and Enjoy.

These ingredients are my preferred organic brands. If you do not have to have these exact brands, just use what you already have to make this recipe. In addition, these brands are my favorites but there are many excellent brands. The key is to find what you like and can afford. I also, prefer to buy local when possible and when local foods are not available, I try to buy at least state and national products first. Remember that our environment, health, and nutrition should always come first before choosing any brand.
